A well considered approach to assessment is essential for the creation of valid, fair and reliable assessment that helps your students to learn.

Designing effective assessment for your course or program requires the same systematic approach that is applied to curriculum design; or indeed any design process.

The PIRI Model (Plan, Implement, Review and Improve) is a continuous quality assurance cycle employed by Griffith University for its activities.

A systematic approach is needed for effective assessment design encompassing a planning phase, a 'doing' phase (what the students and academics are required to complete), followed by an evaluation and enhancement phase (reviewing and improving).
