Almost 50 years ago a discovery was made that hinted that one physical law, that of the weak force in particle physics, is not time symmetric. Could this be the cause of the preferred direction? Up to now the conventional answer has been no. But I will show how this strange behaviour of subatomic particles can lead to a preferred direction for Time for the Universe as a whole. Be prepared to hear about the quantum nature of Time!

The Place, Evolution & Rock Art Heritage Unit (PERAHU) is a newly established research unit within the School of Humanities at Griffith University. In less than a year it is already making news with the Red Deer Cave People finding in southern China and the Google Art Project. Professor Ta??on will be talking about the history and significance of rock art as well as outlining the focus of his research and the impact this will have in contributing to protect Australia's spirit.
