The Michael Whincop Memorial Lecture

 Former Justice of the High Court of Australia, noted jurist and academic The Hon Michael Kirby will examine the issue of same sex marriage in Australia through the Commonwealth v ACT (2013) 250 CLR 441 case. The High Court held that the (Same Sex) Act 2013 was constitutionally invalid because the federal Marriage Act 1961 was the pinnacle law with respect to marriage.
