Griffith Law Public Lecture - Moving beyond good intentions: The Road to Refugee Rights

 University of Michigan's Professor James Hathaway will discuss how readily misunderstood the UN's Refugee Convention is, which is arguably more attentive to state interests than any other human rights treaty. Unless the wold community establishes a practical system to share the burdens and responsibilities of refugee protection, states remaining open to the arrival of refugees will continue to be undermined.
