2020 MHIQ Lecture Series: Professor Gita Mishra will present Women and Cardiovascular Disease. Emerging evidence increasingly points to associations between reproductive characteristics and the risk of cardiovascular disease, that are in addition to the effects of established risk factors such as health behaviours and bodyweight. A âsummary of results from our research on the type1, age at menopause2, and reproductive lifespan3 and incident non-fatal cardiovascular disease events.â

MHIQ Program Seminar Series Healthcare Practice & Survivorship - Telehealth is recognised as an "umbrella' term that covers aspects of telemedicine that link with and provide services for people in home and community settings. In this presentation Dr Malcolm Fisk will point to the way that changing service paradigms call for a rethink of the ethical parameters that underpin telehealth. New ethical parameters need to be taken into account.

MHIQ Program Seminar Series GCORE - Professor Jurvelin's research interests include the development of novel biophysical methods for diagnostics, prediction and therapy of musculoskeletal diseases. Dr Venäläinen's research is focused on developing novel computational approaches and tools to aid diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of complex diseases. Dr Shekhar Chandra has developed automated magnetic resonance (MR) image segmentation algorithms for human joints.

2020 MHIQ Lecture Series - Professor Nigel Laing AO explains that next generation sequencing technologies make reproductive carrier screening for hundreds of conditions affordable. Mackenzie's Mission is a $20m Medical Research Future Fund project to develop, test and evaluate a reproductive carrier screening program that could be implemented and made available free to any Australian couple that wanted to use carrier screening.
