Aims:
The aim of this course is to offer an in-depth understanding of the potential and limitations of dental implants in modern comprehensive clinical practice, as well as to discuss the relevant clinical procedures. The course will present the principles of comprehensive restorative treatment planing with dental implants, as defined by the latest evidence and best practices. Lectures will be combined with case presentations and group discussions/assignments, bringing the theory directly into practice. Hands-on exercises will also allow for a vivid understanding of the clinical procedures with Straumann and Astra dental implant systems.

Target group:
The course is tailored to general dental practitioners interested in implant dentistry who wish to achieve a high level of competence in their daily clinical practice. The course will review the latest concepts of practice and the scientific evidence relevant to the safe and effective practice of implant dentistry. Emphasis is placed on comprehensive treatment planing and decision making support.
Format:
The course will include lectures by expert speakers in the selected topics. Daily case presentations and treatment planning sessions in groups will combine the theoretical topics with practical application. Two sessions with hands-on exercises with two different implant systems are included.The course attendance will be 27 hrs.
