Associate Professor Robin Anderson

A/ Prof Robin Anderson and Dr Mark Devlin  will speak on

"Testing, testing and more testing, do the hits actually do anything useful? A guide to cellular and animal models"

Associate Professor Anderson’s research in the US, UK and here in Australia has contributed substantially to several aspects of cancer research. Associate Professor Anderson currently works with the Cancer Therapeutics CRC and is a Principal Research Fellow and Head of the Metastasis Research Laboratory at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne. She is also a Principal Fellow in the Department of Pathology at The University of Melbourne and a Career Fellow of the National Breast Cancer Foundation. In addition, she is a member of the Victorian Breast Cancer Research Consortium Scientific Research Committee, is on the Board of Directors of the Metastasis Research Society and is Editor-in Chief of Clinical & Experimental Metastasis.

Dr Devlin heads the CTx Translational Research Laboratory at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. After completing a PhD in Pharmacology at the University of Melbourne, Dr Devlin has worked primarily in the area of academic-based drug discovery and has been involved in pre-clinical assay development for a variety of therapeutics classes including analgesic agents, broncho-protective drugs and vaccines.
