India's Economic Rise: Implications for Australia

The Asia – Pacific Business Economics (APBE) Group of the Griffith Asia Institute would like to invite you to a Symposium on

India’s Economic Rise: Implications for Australia

Since the turn of the century, India’s growth rate has more than doubled from the persistently low rates of previous post-independence decades, transforming the Indian economy from what’s been described as a ‘slumbering elephant to a roaring tiger.’

How and why has this happened and what are its economic implications for Australia? At this symposium speakers from the Reserve Bank of India, Trade Queensland and Griffith University will address these questions, highlighting recent developments in the Indian economy with reference to Australia-India and Queensland-India economic relations.

When: Friday 12 November 2010
Where: Ship Inn Function Room, South Bank
Time: 8.30am registration, 9:00am – 1:30pm (including lunch)
Cost: Complimentary. Limited numbers, reservations are essential
To RSVP, please contact Natasha Vary on (07) 3735 5322 or n.vary@griffith.edu.au no later than 5.00pm 10 November 2010.
