Physics Lecture Series 2013 - Quantum Information Science in Optical Waveguides

Principal speaker

Dr Mirko Lobino

 Physics Lecture Series 2013

Give your grey matter a work out; from the world’s first photo of an atom’s shadow to time travel, the Physics Lecture Series 2013 showcases an array of exciting research at Griffith University. The lectures are delivered at a first year student level and are open to the public.

Until recently, proposals for quantum photonic architecture comprised of large-scale (bulk) optical elements, leading to severe limitations in miniaturization, scalability and stability. Optical waveguides are an ideal technology for the implementation of quantum circuitry since they provide miniaturisation and stability. Come and find out how this research will be implemented into several integrated quantum photonic devices suitable for use in quantum information processing.
