Media training will be provided for researchers and HDR students with the aim to :
• help researchers win greater societal impact from their research
• understand how journalists operate
• develop offensive and defensive strategies to build a media profile
• navigate the waters controlled by the media beast
• learn Griffith protocols.
There will be ample time at the end of the session for questions.
Mr Guy Healy, freelance journalist who has 15 years' experience at the national and international level including staff roles at The Australian, and as a contributing journalist to BBC Wildlife in London. Guy was a founding journalist and former deputy editor at Campus Review, and long-time staffer on The Australian's Higher Education Supplement specialising in research coverage. Guy has also written the last two annual research reports for Southern Cross University, which achieved an ERA 5 in geochemistry.
