Public Lecture on Parkinson's Disease to be given by Professor Peter Silburn
Professor Silburn is Professor of Clinical Neuroscience at The University of Queensland and the Patron of Parkinson’s Queensland. He is a world expert in the treatment and research of Parkinson’s disease. Peter’s research into deep brain stimulation is changing the lives of people with Parkinson’s disease. With neurosurgeon Terry Coyne, he’s been deeper into the human brain than most people in the world. With Dr Coyne and a team of researchers from a wide range of other disciplines, Peter leads one of the busiest clinical neuroscience units in Australia.
The Eskitis Institute is a drug discovery research centre. Now in our tenth year, we work to improve health outcomes by research into cancer, infectious diseases and neurodegenerative diseases. Our work in the area of global health will have an impact on people in developing nations.
