Clark in Sarajevo

Clark in Sarajevo

The Griffith University Stagecraft company explores the disaster of the Balkans War and the battle for Sarajevo ten years after the tragedy occurred by presenting Catherine Zimdahl's "Clark in Sarajevo" winner of a Victorian Premier's Award and the Griffin Award for New Playwriting.

The play follows the journey of Clark Cant, a noted journalist who travels to Sarajevo on a mission to reveal the devastation of the Balkans war to the world, only to become entangled in nightmare experiences that drive him to the brink of destruction.

The Stagecraft company process gives the final year Applied Theatre students a professional experience of the real world of the theatre industry, with three weeks of intense rehearsal followed by a season in the Sue Benner Theatre at Metro Arts.
