Going down the path of change - How to help yourself and others deal with change

An organisation is like a garden. It is never static, always changing. In fact change has become one of the few constants in business today. Whether those changes are to legislation, procedures or products they are all essential to the life of the organisation.

Of course the hardest part of any change process is the cultural change required by individuals and teams. Getting people to come on the long and often arduous path of change is a challenge every organisation faces no matter what size or what type of change initiative they are dealing with.

Whether you are a leader or not, learning how to handle change is a skill that is vital to your career success. So what is it you can do to increase the chances of not only a successful outcome but also that you and those around you stay engaged throughout the process?

• Understanding why change at work goes wrong
• Identifying the stages of change everyone goes through and why they are normal
• Understanding what’s behind the emotional reactions to change
• How your mindset impacts on the effectiveness of change for you and others
• The dos and don’ts when you hit a roadblock or a pothole on the path to change
