G20 Leaders Summit

G20 Leaders Summit

Australia’s host year officially starts on 1 December 2013. The current G20 president is Russia.

The G20 leaders’ summit in 2014 will be held on 15 and 16 November in Brisbane, Queensland. This will be the most significant meeting of world leaders Australia has hosted. The principal meeting venue will be the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. A number of public forums will be held in 2013 and 2014 to inform the community about arrangements for the summit, including security and traffic arrangements.

Chairing the G20 in 2014 gives Australia an opportunity to influence the global economic agenda and to strengthen engagement with the world's major economies. The G20 will also be an opportunity to showcase Brisbane, Queensland and Australia to member and non-member countries as a world-class destination for tourism, education and business. As many as 4,000 delegates and 3,000 media representatives from around the world are expected to attend.
