Showcasing an Indigenist Research Methodology

 Presentation by Professor Roianne West, a Professor of Nursing for Indigenous Health and Workforce Development in a joint position between Griffith University and the Townsville Hospital and Health Service.  The aim of the presentation is to showcase an Indigenist Research Methodology within a transormative research framework and discusses Dadirri, an indigenous research method, as a vital research framework in relation to Freire's transformative education process and Habermas' theory of communicative action.  The presentaiton will demonstrate how this methodology provides a robust framework for indigenous researchers undertaking liberatory studies that promote change in Indigenous communities.
