POSTPONED - An Evening with Dr Charles Page

POSTPONED - An Evening with Dr Charles Page

Principal speaker

Charles Page

POSTPONED - Brisbane documentary photographer Dr Charles Page shares highlights from his beautiful photographic essay Memories in Place: the Centenary of WW1. His book explores the enduring connections between European WW1 battlefields and the Australian streets, estates and rivers that were named as a result of patriotic fervour in postwar Australia. How do places such as Pozietes or Passchendaele in Australia resonate with those places in Belgium and France one hundred years on? What impact does this have on our understanding of war, peace, nationhood and friendship? This is a free event with online registration essential. Doors open at 5:30pm for a 6:00pm start. Hosted by Griffith University Friends of the Library.
