APCSE Open Lecture: Responsibility in Business

Carol Adams

Professor Carol Adams has a keen interest in the relationship between business, society and the environment. Her talk will consider the changing expectations on businesses to be responsible, the issues which concern leaders today and how some business are linking social and environmental initiatives with strategy, risk management and long term financial success. She will talk about new global developments in corporate reporting intended to facilitate this change.

Professor Carol Adams’ work is concerned with the relationships between business, society and the environment. She is an internationally renowned author in integrated reporting and sustainability reporting, change management and performance management. Carol is Founding Editor and Editor-in-Chief of the Sustainability Accounting, Management and Policy Journal.

She holds a part time professor position at Monash University, is a visiting professor at the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow and a Research Fellow at the Centre for Sustainability Management, Leuphana Universität Lüneburg.
