5pm Lecture Title: Movies and Their Impact

David Puttnam will talk about the role and the responsibility of the Producer in making films and the impact these films can have and will contribute towards a better society.

David looks in depth to the contributions of the producer in the making of a film, as well as to how this film is then received and takes its place in society. What are the necessary and important set of choices a producer is confronted with? What are the criteria to make these crucial choices to make a film succeed in the marketplace.

In conclusion, Puttnam offers his ‘top ten’ pieces of advice for the creative team: writers, directors and creative producers.
