G20 Business Forum Leaders' Series - Infrastructure & Global Growth

G20 Business Forum Leaders' Series - Infrastructure & Global Growth

The B20 leaders estimate that infrastructure requires an investment of $57 trillion globally. The Australian Federal Government has recognised infrastructure investment as a key driver of economic growth. Significant capital for infrastructure investment is held in private sector funds including pension and institutional investment portfolios and in existing public sector assets. The G20’s challenge is to facilitate the release of this capital as part of a long-term strategy for growth.

Our guest presenters, Dr Doug McTaggart (Non-Executive Director, UGL Limited), Griffith University Associate Professor of Finance, Robert Bianchi and Mr Andrew Rentoul (Partner, Minter Ellison) will reflect on infrastructure trends to date and consider what the future holds, including:

infrastructure as a GDP driver
· prioritising projects

· the rise of private capital

· recycling of capital; and

· future financing models

Griffith University Pro Vice Chancellor (Business), Professor Michael Powell and Minter Ellison Brisbane Managing Partner, William Thompson look forward to welcoming you to the second in our G20 Business Forum - Leaders' Series.
