Extracting strategic advantage from public data sources

Open Data improves lives and empowers us with access to new knowledge and insight. It stimulates economic opportunity, fosters greater transparency and accountability, enhances public service delivery, and provides beneficial social outcomes.

Australian Government data was recently described by Prime Minister Turnbull as "a strategic national resource that holds considerable value for growing the economy, improving service delivery, and transforming policy outcomes for the nation”.

This panel discussion, led by industry and public sector experts will showcase the opportunities and debate its challenges. Topics canvassed will include where to locate and access publicly available data-sets, and the legal aspects of the Open Data movement.

You’re invited to attend this exciting event within a series of Open Data initiatives planned to stimulate and engage our IT ecosystem in this challenging topic. Register at: https://events.griffith.edu.au/ITForumOpenData
