Griffith University is pleased to invite you to register for a special event, A Conversation with Melody Barnes, Global view: Lessons from the Obama administration.

Appointed by US President Barack Obama, Ms Barnes was Director of the White House Domestic Policy Council 2009 – 2012.

The event will be held on Tuesday 23 February, 2016 from 6.30pm - 7.30pm at the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University, 140 Grey Street, South Bank, Queensland

The Domestic Policy Council is the principal forum used by the President of the United States for considering domestic policy matters (excluding economic matters). In her role as Director, Ms Barnes provided policy and strategic advice to President Obama and worked closely with members of the Cabinet to coordinate the domestic policy agenda across the Administration.

Upon her departure, President Obama said Barnes “has left a lasting legacy, developing and implementing policies that have helped remake our education system, spurred innovation, and fostered opportunity and equality for millions of Americans.”
