Associate Professor Robin Roberts
Presented by: Robin Roberts, Associate Professor, Griffith Asia Institute, Department of International Business and Asian Studies
Online and social media has the power to significantly increase research engagement by reaching more people across more places. A web presence draws in colleagues, attracts industry attention, engages students and graduates, and enhances the reputation of the university. As an ECR, planning your profile, being online savvy and understanding the measurement metrics that contribute to research impact are a must today.
Capturing how many times our work has been cited or shared online (cyber citations), provides measures of research exposure, engagement and where our work is being discussed. Traditional citation mechanisms are still here but there is more… a web presence speeds up our citations that would otherwise take years through traditional methods. Connecting online through public policy forums, social blogs and social media are some of the platforms that contribute to building research impact.
This seminar is about starting the journey… building your profile… interested to know a little more, come along and let’s start the conversation.
