About the Guest Speaker

Mr James McNamara is a full-time member of the National Native Title Tribunal based in Brisbane. James McNamara has been admitted as a legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of Queensland, and he holds a Master in Public Administration degree from Harvard University.

He has 20 years professional experience in native title, State land rights, cultural heritage, land administration and land management. Positions he has held include Director and Executive Director for the Policy Division of the Department of the Premier and Cabinet. He has also worked as a legal consultant on Aboriginal Law at the Ministry of Justice in British Columbia, Canada.
