The Athena SWAN Charter is an accreditation program that works towards enhancing gender equity and diversity in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine (STEMM). The launch announces Griffith's participation in the accreditation process to qualify for an Athena SWAN Bronze Institutional Award. The day will be focussed on looking at the issue of gender equity and diversity with a focus on practical outcomes

We are pleased to have Former Sex Discrimination Commissioner, Ms Elizabeth Broderick AO, delivering our Keynote Address and Queensland Chief Scientist, Dr Geoff Garrett AO, delivering our Opening Address. This is your opportunity to hear from the Self-Assessment team on our progress so far, the key issues related to gender equity and diversity that have been identified and how Griffith plans to take action in addressing these issues.

The work on the Athena SWAN pilot, whilst focussed on STEMM areas will also have benefits for gender equity and diversity across the University.
