US Primacy in the Asia-Pacific: Trends and Policy Implications for the Australia-Japan Relationship
The 6th Annual Australia-Japan Dialogue will held at the Japan Institute of International Affairs in Tokyo, Japan on 9 December 2016.
The 2016 dialogue will be held in partnership with Japan Institute of International Affairs and is supported by The Australia-Japan Foundation.
The two central questions to be discussed at this year’s Dialogue are:
1. How do Australian and Japanese policy perceptions of US primacy, in strategic and economic terms, shape their respective views of the regional order in the Asia-Pacific?
2. Is Australia and Japan’s shared commitment to a US-led regional order likely to lead to a formal security alliance?
