For our first community forum for 2018, the EcoCentre will be celebrating the exciting new publication from Griffith University professor, Darryl Jones. The Birds At My Table: Why we feed birds and why it matters is the first book to explore the many ecological, historical, commercial and social dimensions of what is an extremely popular - and immensely controversial - activity. Darryl's motivation is to ensure that both birds and people get the most out of this interaction with the least risk. Come and learn why this simple pastime can be both profoundly reassuring and scarily dangerous.
