Join Michael Vatikiotis as he discusses threats to democratic transition in the South East Asia and ways to manage them.

Michael Vatikiotis is the Asia Regional Director of the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue and was the Editor of the Far Eastern Economic Review prior to this role. He has been a writer and journalist for more than twenty-five years, is fluent in both Thai and Indonesian. During his career, he has been based as a journalist in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Hong Kong. He is the author of two books on Southeast Asian politics and two novels set in Indonesia. His latest book "Blood and Silk: Power and Conflict in Modern Southeast Asia" was published in June 2017.
