Environment and the Creative Arts: panel discussion
Other speakers
Dr Leah Barklay
Dr Renata Busiak
Tristan Schultz
This panel discussion brings together three researchers whose practices address both the creative arts and environmental sciences, each from a different perspective: Dr Leah Barklay - a postdoctoral research fellow at the Queensland Conservatorium Research Centre - creates complex sonic environments that draw attention to changing climates and fragile ecosystems; Dr Renata Busiak is a visual artist whose experimental biochrome work has been widely exhibited nationally and internationally; and Tristan Schultz - a design lecturer at QCA - has extensive interdisciplinary design experience at the intersection of decolonial thinking and design sustainability, informed by his Gamilaroi Aboriginal and European Australian heritage. Their discussion will explore how creative arts practice can help to illuminate and promote better understanding of environmental issues.
