Noted English conductor Nicholas Braithwaite, a long time favourite of Brisbane audiences, returns to the Conservatorium in 2008. His expertise on English music will be seen in Finzi’s The Fall of the Leaf and the monumental Enigma Variations by Elgar. Also, this program will feature soloist Adam Herd in the Piano Concerto in G Major, one of Ravel’s most brilliant and popular works. In recognition of his 75th birthday, we honour the eminent Australian composer Colin Brumby in a performance of his tone poem Paean.
