The Y Connect Project was a 2.5-year school-university-artists partnership project funded by the Queensland Department of Education. Possibly the largest of its kind ever conducted anywhere in the world. Within the project teachers and artists collaborated in English, Mathematics, and Arts classrooms. The findings reveal that six connections critical for student learning and wellbeing were enhanced, with one of these being connection to learning.
The presentation will outline these six connections, whilst also summarising the project's impact on teachers. It will conclude by addressing how the Y Connect approach might be applied in other schools.
