I Turn Myself into a Picture: Crisia Constantine

This exhibition is an artistic inquiry of the Lacanian theory of gaze. A sculptural installation, the exhibition represents a simulation of the scopic field in which we lead our daily lives. But the experience of being seen by others turns us into objects. The investigation reaches an audio dimension: Is the quest of love and desire ever able to save us? Or is the image, asks Crisia Constantine, the picture that we form in the back of our eye, and that we are never part of, the ultimate response?

Constantine does not look for answers, but for other ways in which the question can be framed.
