If the quality of our government and our democracy is important to you, this is an event you can't afford to miss! Before a live audience a panel of experts, moderated by Paul Barclay (ABC, "Big Ideas'), will reflect on the importance of the Fitzgerald Report, where corruption is today and what still needs to be done to thwart it.

The Fitzgerald Inquiry had huge consequences for Queensland and indeed the nation by not only its outcome but the methods it used and the precedents it set in dealing with official corruption.

The Inquiry was established in response to a series of articles and a television documentary that highlighted prostitution, gambling and possible police and government corruption. Tony Fitzgerald QC was appointed to lead the inquiry; it would prove an inspired, if accidental choice.

Scheduled to last six weeks it ran for two years focusing public attention in Queensland and throughout Australia on integrity and accountability in public office.

To be recorded and broadcast nationally on ABC's Big Ideas program.

Cost:
$15 Student/Concession
$20 Waged

Co-hosted by the School of Government and International Relations, the International Society for the Reform of Criminal Law and DamnFineMedia
