Part 1 will explore statistical paradigms through drama-based teaching approach inspired by a cult science fiction series.
In Part 2, you will need to bring your own laptop, loaded with R, R studio, ggplot2 and the trial version of AutoStat, as this class will involve a little computing. It will follow on from the initial exploration of statistical modelling and learn how to implement the underlying computing and gain practical experience with interpretation.
Recommended Prerequisites for Part 2:
Expanding your Inference through Modelling part 1: An introduction to the concepts.
Some experience with R, e.g. Induction in R and/or Excellent Graphics in R.
These sessions are highly interactive with discussion in small groups and are not suitable for students who prefer a more traditional (lectorial) format.
