Other speakers

Roshelle Weir - Founder and Learning & Development expert, Chief Enabler – Decida

Event Overview:

Being a great leader requires the mind of a psychologist, the heart of a mentor, and the gritty discipline of an athlete. Katrina Robertson has all three.

In conversation with Roshelle Weir, a learning and development expert with a background in culture transformation, Katrina will draw from her background as an experienced psychologist, world powerlifting champion and world record holder. Katrina and Roshelle will delve into the neuroscience behind what it takes to build resilient teams and empower staff and students through challenging times.

This (belated) International Women's Day celebration brings two inspiring female leaders together to #BreakTheBias and celebrate diverse leadership, and the power of leading with head and heart.

About the Presenters:

Katrina Robertson: Come and join Katrina as she shares her story from country kid who, at school, was voted "least likely to succeed." On an elaborate and unplanned journey, Katrina survived a near catastrophic motorbike accident, became a registered nurse and then Psychologist. In her late 30's she directed the hard-earned lessons from 2 years injury rehabilitation, 10 years as Nurse and Psychologist and became the Women's World Powerlifting Champion - successfully lifting a weight no woman had ever even attempted before. Katrina is celebrating her 30th year as a Psychologist and her entertaining anecdotes will encourage you to appreciate the integral nature of work and personal connections and how they link to the longevity of wellbeing. She will challenge you to change your conversations with self and others to embrace a more resilient and wholehearted lifestyle. Katrina will share her most spirited endeavor of opening the Women's Sports Academy this year, which culminates in her desire to show leadership in shaping the future of girls and women in sport.

Roshelle Weir: After working in financial services for more than 20 years in insurance, learning and development and later as an accomplished business leader, Roshelle was commissioned to set up and manage Suncorp's original digital innovation lab focused on customer experience design. Inspired by this innovation work with startups and strategic partners, Roshelle developed a keen interest in the intersection between neuroscience and technology, and in 2018 joined forces with renowned psychologist Phil Slade to launch Decida. Roshelle and the team have most recently been responsible for launching Switch4Schools, which supports teachers to monitor student mental health and wellbeing in the classroom and supports students to be more emotionally intelligent.
