PDN Webinar: Leading by using and generating evidence-based practices: Conceptual PlayWorlds for teachers in primary schools

Principal speaker

Laureate Professor Marilyn Fleer - Foundation Chair in Early Childhood Education and Development, Monash University

Event Overview:

This webinar will begin by orienting leaders to an evidence-based model of practice that research has shown to inspire teachers and children in primary schools to engage in STEM. The model can support a broad range of curriculum areas. This will be followed by downloading a free app to take back to teaching teams to support evidence-led practices. Leaders will workshop the affordances, challenges and their solutions when using the model, and the app as a tool for reflective practice with their teams. Participants will draw upon video vignettes of teachers who have tried out the model of practice in primary schools, showcased on a closed FaceBook site for educators. Ideas and solutions to challenges will then be shared collectively. Finally, leaders will be invited to be part of a collaboration between researchers and leaders with their teams on the workshopped FaceBook site to take forward evidence-led practice in the context of growing Conceptual PlayWorlds for teachers in primary schools.
