Principal speaker

Dr Emma Barnes

These hands-on, stepwise workshops assist research staff in either planning for the generation, identification, evidencing and communication of their research OR retrospectively identifying their research impact outside of academia.

Research Impact Planning
10:00 am - 12:00 pm
This workshop assists research staff in planning for the generation, identification, evidencing and communication of their research impact outside of academia; that is, the beneficial changes their research may have on societies, environments, economies, health, and/or culture.

Research impact is increasingly becoming important across grant applications, government evaluations and for stakeholder engagement - having a plan facilitates both the generation and communication of research impact.

Research Impact in Retrospective
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
This workshop assists research staff in retrospectively identifying their research impact outside of academia; that is, the beneficial changes their research has had on societies, environments, economies, health, and/or culture.

Identifying the elements of research impact (e.g., stakeholders, impact indicators, evidence of impact) is increasingly becoming important across grant applications, government evaluations and for stakeholder engagement.

Please bring along a pen and notebook or a device to record your research impact as we progress through the workshop.

These sessions are for Academic Staff and not relevant for HDR's.
