In this first Queensland Conservatorium Research Centre Professoriate Lecture, we welcome Professor Huib Schippers to give a lecture entitled Sound Futures - Assorted reflections possibly falling short of a grand unified history of everything musical. Looking back on the past twelve and a half years of his research for Queensland Conservatorium Research Centre, Professor Schippers shares thoughts on why we engage with music so passionately, the importance of community, and the sustainability of music practices, with the aim of capturing some of the key qualities and forces that define musical life in the first decades of the 21st century.
